Royal World Group | Aluminium Windows & Doors

Bi-Folding Doors

The best bi-folding doors for you will depend on a balance of factors like brand reputation, material quality, the installation process, performance, and long-term value. While there are some premium systems available, what really matters is that the system is fit for purpose, installed correctly, and well-maintained.

At Royal World Group - Windows and Doors, offering systems that are well-suited to long-term operation with correct installation practices ensures that customers will enjoy hassle-free performance for years to come.

Quailty of the System and Materials

Brands & Reputation: Established brands tend to offer higher reliability, but that doesn't mean lesser-known brands can't be just as good. Look for customer reviews, ratings, and word-of-mouth recommendations.

Materials: The material of the door frames (e.g., aluminum, uPVC, or timber) affects durability, aesthetic appeal, and thermal efficiency. Aluminum is typically a strong, lightweight, and durable choice, making it a popular option.

What are the differences then between systems?

Here are some common points for consideration when considering the right system for you.

  • Colour:

At Royal World Group, we offer a wide range of color options for the Reynaers window and door systems, with any RAL color available in both smooth and textured finishes. This allows you to fully customize your project to match your design vision, whether you're looking for a sleek, modern look with a smooth finish or a more tactile, textured surface for added character. The color selection ensures that your system seamlessly integrates with the overall aesthetic of your building.

Our systems are finished using a high-quality powder coating process, which ensures a durable, long-lasting finish that is resistant to fading, scratches, and corrosion. This coating process provides a robust, weather-resistant surface that can withstand the UAE's challenging climate, including exposure to sun, humidity, and saltwater. The powder coating enhances the performance of the aluminium profiles, providing an attractive, maintenance-free finish that will retain its vibrancy and strength for years to come.

  • Thermal Efficiency:

U-values are an important factor in the performance of window and door systems, as they measure the thermal effectiveness of the unit. A lower U-value indicates better insulation, meaning the system is more effective at keeping heat inside during colder months and preventing heat gain in the summer. This results in improved energy efficiency, reduced heating and cooling costs, and enhanced comfort for building occupants. Different systems will boast varying U-values depending on the materials used, the type of glazing, and the overall design of the window or door.

For example, Low E (Low Emissivity) glass is commonly used to improve the U-value of a system. Low E glass features a special coating that reflects infrared light (heat) back into the building, while still allowing visible light to pass through. This coating helps reduce heat loss in winter and minimizes heat gain in summer, making it a great choice for energy-efficient buildings. Additionally, Low E glass can help protect interiors from UV rays, preventing fading of furniture, fabrics, and artwork. When selecting windows and doors for your project, considering the U-value and glazing options like Low E glass can significantly impact the energy performance and long-term sustainability of the building.

  • Why are they different across different systems?

Most of the thermal effecieny in any window or door system comes from the glazing. This often constitutes around 80% of the overall area. In todays market there are a number of options to to consider around the type of glass you can specify. You would have course heard of the options of Double Glazed and Triple Glazed. Triple glazed sealed glass units offer a higher U-value than conventional double glazing, however not all door systems are designed to accommodate triple glazed units, some just double glazed. The measure in a double glazed 28mm unit is around 1.3 U-value. Triple Glazed units can reduce down to as low as 0.8 U Value. These are what as known to be centre pane U-values. When added to any system the overall U-value of glass and system will give a new U-Value. This is called the overall U-Value. You will find clear labels on our range of what U-values you can expect to find on each of our systems.

  • Profile Dimensions:

Bi-folding door systems come with a unique set of profile dimensions, and different systems will offer slightly varying aesthetic appearances. One of the most common requests is for a slim door frame, as the slimmer the frame, the more glass area you will achieve, resulting in more natural light flowing into the space. The majority of our systems are designed to offer what we call “Glass to Glass sightlines,” which typically range from 140mm to 160mm—the dimensions from the edge of one glass panel to the edge of the next. For the Reynaers CF77 system, the sightline is 140mm, offering a balance between a slim profile and enhanced thermal efficiency. The CF77 is both aesthetically pleasing with its sleek design and highly thermally efficient, making it an excellent choice for those seeking both style and performance.

  • Leadtimes:

At Royal World Group (RWG), we pride ourselves on our efficient lead times of just 4-6 weeks for the Reynaers systems we offer. This is made possible by our commitment to holding stock of all the Reynaers profiles, ensuring that manufacturing can begin immediately without the delays typically associated with shipping from Europe. Unlike many companies in the UAE that rely on long shipping times and customs clearance, our proactive approach of stocking the most popular systems allows us to keep your project on track and deliver timely results. This streamlined process ensures a faster turnaround, enabling you to stay on schedule with your construction timelines and avoid unnecessary delays.

  • Handles and Hinges:

Different systems will have varying options for door furniture, handles, hinges etc.. Systems have been selected based on a preference of handle type, colour and appearance. We can be clear about all the options over all our systems to help give you a steer in the right direction.
